Jabar Rakyat Bandung – Ratusan warga menghadiri peringatan Hari Peduli Autisme Internasional Tingkat Kota Bandung. Hal ini menjadi momentum penting untuk menggaungkan nilai inklusivitas dan kesadaran terhadap individu dengan Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Berlangsung di Taman Cikapayang, Dago, Kota Bandung, acara Hari Peduli Autism Internasional dimulai dengan pertunjukan musik dari anak-anak penyandang disabilitas dan autisme yang tampil penuh percaya diri di atas panggung. Sorak sorai dan tepuk tangan dari penonton menjadi bentuk apresiasi sekaligus dukungan terhadap keberanian mereka.
Setelah pertunjukan, peserta bersama-sama mengikuti “Walk for Autisme ”, sebuah jalan santai menyusuri area Car Free Day (CFD) Dago yang dipenuhi semangat solidaritas dan kebersamaan. Peringatan Hari Peduli Autism Internasional ini sejatinya dilakukan setiap 2 April bertepatan dengan World Autism Awareness Day. Namun tahun ini, pelaksanaannya diundur menjadi tanggal 20 April tanpa mengurangi esensi perayaannya.
Wali Kota Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, yang hadir langsung dalam Hari Autism Internasional menyampaikan Bandung adalah kota yang ramah bagi semua warganya, termasuk mereka yang masuk dalam kelompok rentan.
“Kota Bandung akan selalu terbuka untuk siapa pun. Makna dari ‘terbuka’ adalah inklusivitas. Kota Bandung milik semua orang. Bandung bukan kota eksklusif, tapi kota karamah yang memperhatikan kepentingan setiap kelompok,” ujar Farhan, Minggu (20/4/2025).

Ia juga menyebut, pentingnya belajar dari para orang tua dan anak-anak dengan autisme mengenai cara menjaga hati dan membangun empati. Menurutnya, keberagaman adalah kekuatan yang membuat Bandung istimewa.
“Walk for Autism di Cikapayang ini menjadi simbol kemeriahan dalam keberagaman. Ini ciri khas Bandung. Alhamdulillah, kita bisa mengatakan bahwa Bandung adalah kota yang terbuka dan layak huni bagi siapa pun tanpa memandang latar belakang,” tuturnya.
Lebih lanjut, Farhan menjelaskan, peringatan ini bukan sekadar seremonial, melainkan sarana untuk terus menggaungkan kesadaran tentang autisme setiap tahunnya.
“World Autism Awareness Day itu artinya membangkitkan awareness tentang keberadaan autisme, perilaku yang menyertainya, hingga penanganannya. Autisme sekarang ada di mana-mana, dan kesadaran ini harus terus dibangun,” ungkapnya. (*)
